We are the largest physician-led, all-female dermatology practice in Minnesota. Many of our docs are double board-certified, professors at the U of M, cancer researchers, aesthetic experts, and all-around award winners. Our practice regularly tops Best Docs and Top Docs awards. And we are VERY picky about who we choose for YOUR care :-)

Dr. Nicole Gunasekera is a board-certified dermatologist with clinical expertise in general and surgical dermatology. She has special interests in skin cancer detection, acne, psoriasis, atopic dermatitis (eczema), and pigmentation disorders such as vitiligo. She also specializes in cosmetic dermatology and skin rejuvenation, including laser treatments and cosmetic procedures such as BOTOX®, Sculptra, Juvederm and Voluma.  Dr. Gunasekera is available for appointments in our Minnetonka and Burnsville locations.

Dr. Gunasekera attended Vanderbilt University and graduated Phi Beta Kappa and summa cum laude with a BA in Public Health & Health Disparities. She earned her MD from Harvard Medical School along with an MBA from Harvard Business School. She completed her internship in Internal Medicine at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston and her residency in Dermatology at the Harvard Combined Dermatology Training Program. She joins Lakes Dermatology after practicing general, surgical, and cosmetic dermatology for several years at Brigham & Women’s Hospital Department of Dermatology in Boston, where she served as Director of the Vitiligo Clinic and Co-Director of the Skin of Color Clinic.

Beth Boyum, PA-C is a board-certified Physician Assistant with over 20 years of experience as a Physician Assistant and 8 years specializing in dermatology. Beth completed her undergraduate studies at Gustavus Adolphus College in Minnesota and earned her Physician Assistant degree from The Chicago Medical School. She is skilled in providing comprehensive care in medical, surgical, and cosmetic dermatology, working closely with patients to help them achieve optimal skin health. She is a an active member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants and the Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants.
